Privacy policy

HanFinCal (“we”) is a website run by an independent publisher. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version

• You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for your name or email to read anything.
• We don’t set cookies and we don’t use analytics or tracking tools.
• We don’t show ads, so no advertising company collects data through this site.
• Numbers you type into our calculators and words you type into search stay in your browser.

Information we receive

When you email us. We receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to read and answer your message, and it is stored by our email provider.

When you load a page. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, and may keep them for a short time. Cloudflare may also set a cookie that is strictly needed for security if it suspects automated traffic. We don’t use this information to identify you. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

What stays on your device

Calculators and search run in your browser. What you enter is not sent to us or anyone else.

Listen to this article uses the voices built into your browser or device. If you choose your reading speed, it is saved in your browser’s local storage so the player remembers it; you can clear it in your browser settings. Some browsers use online voices (for example, voices labeled “Online” or “Google”), which send the article text being read to the browser maker to produce the speech. That happens between your browser and its maker, under their privacy terms.

Advertising

The site currently shows no ads. If we add advertising, such as Google AdSense, we will update this policy before any ad appears.

Links to other sites

Articles link to government agencies and other sources, and the share buttons are ordinary links to Facebook, X and email. Nothing from those sites loads until you click. Once you leave our site, their privacy policies apply.

Sharing and selling

We don’t sell your information and don’t share it with anyone, except the services named above that are needed to run the site and answer email, or when the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct or delete it. In practice, the only personal information we keep is email you send us. To make a request, email [email protected]. We won’t treat you differently for asking.

Children

This website is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We update this policy when the site changes, for example before adding ads or a newsletter. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
